You will not be disappointed

My family and i absolutely loved this cottage! It had everything we needed for a warm and comfortable stay. Brenda supplied a detailed list of where to go grocery shopping before arriving, restaurants in the area, and things to do when we were there, whether permitting. It was too cold to go hiking but there were a ton of games and movies to keep a 7 year old boy and the adults occupied. I can't say enough about how we loved how this place was decorated and the history behind it. Brenda and her team were always quick to respond and extremely helpful. If you're looking for a home away from home or if you're looking for a new adventure like my family was, this is a great place to start!

Kellen, Raleigh, NC , December 2022

A lovely and quiet cottage

A lovely and quiet cottage with easy access to Little Switzerland, Marion and Spruce Pine. We enjoyed the fantastic home space and the short trails nearby. The location also made for easy trips to the nearby towns and a run into Asheville. Brenda also worked with us to manage some challenging logistics (entirely our fault), which helped turn a big headache into a wonderful weekend. Thank you!

Adam, Morrisville, NC, December 2022

The location was spot on

Brenda was fantastic! She provided a ton of information about the location ahead of time which made packing, planning, and travel really easy.
The location was spot on to the description and my family loved every inch of the place. We are for sure booking another stay in the summer time to take full advantage of the creek in the bag of the property.

Chad, Durham, NC, November 2022

We had a great time.

Me and my 2 brothers were looking for a place to sleep at night night and ride our motorcycles in the day. We enjoyed our stay here. The beds were comfortable, The cottage was lovely. Sitting on the porch and listening to the creek was relaxing.

Barry, Charlotte, NC, August 2022

Sound of the stream from the front porch

This is a cute, comfortable, home built over 100 years ago. We could hear the sounds of a stream nearby, and the front porch was inviting.
It is remote, so be prepared with snacks! We enjoyed our stay.

Lynda, Pittsboro, NC, July 2022

Lots of extras

The cottage had a nice stocked kitchen. It is located on 226 A which is an extremely curvy road and needs
experienced drivers around the curves. Hummingbirds with the Feeder and watching them was an Extra.

Brian, Kill Devil NC, July 2022

Whimsy, fun, magical- so wonderful.
We loved Brenda’s cottage. She was super helpful when we had questions about road closures
due to inclement weather. The cottage has all you need and then some.

Lacee, Morristown TN, January 2021

Amazing stay in every way!
The remodeling of the bathroom was wonder addition. When we arrived nothing was needed except groceries lol. The host had everything one could want from linens to band aids and wonderful things to do information. I was also able to reach out for information or directions and was responded to very promptly. Beautiful area Beautiful cottage can’t say enough about the experience.
Brandon, Aberdeen MS, December 2021

Great cottage for relaxation!
We had a great time at the cottage. We spent a day ay Lake James, a day at Linville Falls and a day just driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. Most anything you would want to do is within easy driving distance but the cottage is private and secluded. The porch, fire pit and the well stocked cottage were fantastic. Check in and out was super easy. If you want to relax in the mountains I couldn't recommend a better place.
Patrick, Madison NC, October 2021

A well-equipped, cozy cabin!
We had a terrific week, despite extremely rainy weather. With the super porch we weren't stuck inside, even in a downpour. The location is convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway and many great hikes and waterfalls, so we managed an impressive amount of outings whenever the rain let up.
Bonny, Durham NC, October 2021

Would stay again.
Loved it. Quaint. Private. Love the sounds of the stream. So relaxing. Go!
Mark & Mandy, Greenville NC, September 2021

Lovely cottage
We really enjoyed staying at the cottage! It was very relaxing after spending the day working at the Penland School! I cannot say enough about the front porch in the mornings and evenings! Hummingbird wars and fireflies entertained us for sure! The cottage is very uniquely decorated by an artist, every where you look there is something beautiful!
Lauren, Morganton NC, August 2021

Everything you need in a beautiful setting.
Brian, Cincinnati OH, August 2021

Great location. Great for adults and kids.
The location is wonderful and very convenient to a lot of hikes and other things to do. Having a fire pit and creek was a huge bonus for our kids. They loved it. The house is as advertised. It’s older but still nice. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook. The living room is comfortable and they have a huge amount of DVDs to choose from. We had a great stay and really enjoyed it all the area had to offer.
Jeffrey, Stuart FL, July 2021

Perfect mountain getaway
We had a fantastic stay in this adorable cottage. Really loved looking at all the antiques and enjoyed the fresh flowers on the table.
The cottage had everything we needed and we spent lots of time listening to the creek while relaxing on the front porch. The only
thing we wished was different was that the queen bed is VERY soft and maybe on the older side.

Nur, Asheville NC, July 2021

Artsy
Loved the property hearing the creek was cool should have booked an additional night all was a pleasant experience.
Michael, Sarasota FL, July 2021

Cozy peaceful retreat
The cottage was the perfect getaway for my family. It was artfully decorated. We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon
Ellen, Altoona AL, June 2021

Adorable
What a unique and special place for my daughter and I to relax. Like previous reviews, the porch was my favorite but that kitchen made
me happy inside. We relaxed in the rockers and hammock and were amused by the hummingbirds chasing each other and enjoying the feeder.
If you want to be off the grid then this is the place for you! Limited cell service but there is WiFi. Be prepared to drive winding mountain roads
especially if you want to visit Little Switzerland which was a gem. The accommodations were perfect right down to the little herbs garden.
Thank you for allowing us to experience a little piece of your mountain paradise.

Stephanie S, Denton NC, June 2021

What a Gem
This place exceeded our expectations. Was perfectly decorated. Had every little detailed thing you could need! The creek is amazing,
listening and playing in. My boy is 4 and loved. The area is so beautiful endless exploring and the town is cute all locals were nice!

Ashley, Toledo OH, June 2021

Country mountain home
We enjoyed the porch rocking chairs and creek rapids. So peaceful. Home was just our style. Pure country loved our stay.
Jacqueline, Booneville IN, June 2021

Picture perfect!
Beautiful property ! Great location. We enjoyed are days hiking or relaxing on the front porch. They provide everything you need.
All you need to bring is groceries. The only issue we had was the mattress. This is the best mountain cabin we have ever stayed at.

Tracy, Deerfield FL, May, 2021

Nice Stay
We had a nice stay at the cottage and loved the front porch and watching the hummingbirds. We ventured out a lot for hikes and
food but loved coming back to relax on the porch and hear the creek on the property.

Ashley, Hillsborough NC, May 2021

Quite and quaint
Brenda was fast responding to messages. The house was decorated so cute and we loved the front porch!
The sound of the creek was so relaxing. It was a short drive to restaurants and stores.

Afton, Blountsville TN, May 2021

Wonderful Cottage / Great Stay
Cottage is superbly located for access to Blue Ridge Parkway and places beyond are all within a scenic drive.
Historic home with retro decor to add to its charm. Brenda provides everything you need to feel right at home —
complete kitchen with all utensils, pots/pans and other cookware. Very clear communication on how to care for the
cottage and how to reach the caretaker if you need anything. Would definitely rebook in the future if visiting North Carolina!

Aracelys, Miami FL, May 2021

Great!
House was great! Loved the fire pit!!
Andrea, Washington GA, April 2021

Great place for a family vacation
Brenda is great to work with, quick responses and everything is exactly as stated. We were going to get there late and
she arranged to have the outside lights on for us, as it is really dark at night. As a host, Brenda was great and
the property was wonderful, and a great place for a family vacation.
Deborah, Greenboro NC, April 2021

Adorable Cottage
Lovely, well-decorated cottage next to a creek that truly whispers! The front porch makes you never want to leave.
Fresh mountain air and lovely scenery all around. Only wish there was a king size bed. Queen bed mattress was very soft.
Kitchen was well-equipped. Fire pit by the creek was cool. Small, but adequate bathroom. Overall, the house was very cozy and comfortable!

Gail, Dacula GA, April 2021

Wonderful trip to the mountains!
We had a wonderful time! We have stayed at many cabins and this one is by far the best! We came with our
two sons and they had a blast in the streams! We will definitely be back!

Nicholas, Lexington SC, April 2021

The house was perfect!

We had a beautiful white Christmas, roasted marshmallows at the fire pit and played by the creek. You can easily spend days simply on the property.

I do not recommend using the map app on your phone to find it, I was brought to a different location. Once I found the house I was able to
mark my location and then use the app. There are plenty of cute towns to explore in the area nearby, grocery store in Marion, and the
Blue Ridge Parkway is right by the house. It’s a breathtaking property with a great heater if it’s cold!

Brittany, Cooper City, FL, December 2020

Home away from home.
Beautiful little cottage in a stunning location, we really enjoyed every part of the process.

Pieter, Fort Mill, SC, November 2020

105 year old cottage had everything we needed.

My mother, my sister and I had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage. My mother especially enjoyed all of the antique pieces and unique artwork in the home. The kitchen is clean and spacious, especially for a 105 year old cottage. Everything we needed to prepare our meals was available. The indoor fire/stove was perfect for both ambience and warmth and the fire pit out back provided us with many memories that we will treasure forever. Barbara was quick to respond to any questions I had, both before and during our stay. We would definitely book this little cottage again.

Summer, Columbia, SC, November 2020

Whispering Creek Cottage is a perfect getaway!
Perfect place to get away from all the business of life and just enjoy nature. The location was a great blend of being away from everything and still being in the middle of everything. The cottage was so clean and stocked with anything you could think of. Lounging on the porch in the rocking chairs, hiking around the cottage, or relaxing inside the cutest cottage was such a welcome change from our hectic lives. I hope to return to this wonderful place again.
Crystal, Middlesex, NC, October 2020

Can't stop thinking about this adorable cottage!
What a perfect place to get away and unwind. The cottage is very charming and comfortable. It has everything you would need to feel at home and the owners have provided a lot of recommendations on things to do to. The cottage is conveniently located to the nearby towns and the Parkway but I found myself so taken with the view from the front porch and the area around the stream, that I rarely ventured from the cottage. Napping in the hammock, watching the hummingbirds, listening to the stream, and just reconnecting with nature was the perfect thing to do all day.
I've found the perfect place to stay whenever the mountains call to me again.

Gail, South Bend, IN, September 2020

Like getting into a time machine and going back to the early 1900's when life was simple and sweet!

We had planned to do a lot more exploring of the area, but the peace, quiet and enticing sounds from the creek kept us at the house!
Little treasures all over the house were a source of constant amusement. We spent quite a bit of time down at the
creek and on the front porch. After climbing into the hammock I was in peaceful bliss!

Bob, Millinton, TN, August 2020

We loved the cabin!
The sound of the creek, the hummingbirds, the porch!!! A very country cottage feel to the cabin made washing dishes by hand feel just right. We hiked at Crabtree Falls on the only hot day and sat in the cool mist of the falls for an hour. Only an hour away is Chimney Rock and Burntshirt Winery Bistro.
Great for a wine tasting and lunch! But best of all was just sitting on the porch watching the motorcycles go by on 226A.

Ellen, Richmond, VA,  August 2020

Perfect nature getaway
The house and property were really wonderful. We really enjoyed watching hummingbirds on the porch.
The house has everything you could possibly need and is a short drive from many beautiful hikes.

Isabel, Chicago, IL,  August 2020

Beautiful cottage

We enjoyed our few days staying at the cottage. It is so quaint and comfortable and has everything you may need on a long or short stay.
We loved all of the antiques, art, pottery, and books scattered throughout! Thank you for sharing this old homeplace with us!

Elda, Lula, GA,  July 2020

A little piece of paradise in the mountains woods...
We enjoyed our three weeks stay very much. Everything was just wonderful. This property was absolutely amazing... the creek right outside was a dream ... was able to sleep with open windows and listen to it... raised boats down the stream... roasted marshmallows at the fire pit, had breakfast
every morning outside on the porch, watch hummingbirds, picked wine-berries growing on the property and many other things...
our two daughters 10 & 13) were thrilled... owners and caretaker of house were very helpful and responsive...
We would love to come back one day... Overall, the cabin rental was everything that was advertised and more...

Nico, Celebration, FL,  July 2020

We will be back!

A delightful home away from home. Everything you need to be comfortable. We played golf all 5 days so location was perfect.
Rambling brook and the front porch was the cherry on top. We will be back!

Deb, Sun City West, AZ,  June 2020

A little slice of heaven
Our visit to Whispering Creek Cottage exceeded our expectations. It is just so so quaint and peaceful. Communication with the owners is excellent and we received a ton of helpful information even before arriving at the cottage. The artistic detail and decorating is so charming. It was stocked with every amenity we needed and more... Supplies, games, videos, books. The owners have thought of everything. Our children loved exploring the property and the creek.. and of course many hours spent on the porch. We planned to spend more time exploring the area but ended up spending most of our time relaxing and enjoying family time on the property. We left today and are all very sad. My four year old son asked if this could be our “all the time” house... I told him no but we will certainly be back!!

Cailtin, Pfafftown, NC,  June 2020

Best EVER!
I am spoiled for all future rentals! This was such a wonderful cottage that I want to come back and just stay - sit on the porch, lay in the hammock or rock in a chair, and watch the hummingbirds who clearly love the porch as well. Or, if I get bored, go down to the creek which is constantly beckoning with the soothing, babbling sounds of the water. Or, I can be inside and continually discover the cozy, creative, artistic touches of the decor of the cottage in every room, in every immaculately clean corner. On top of all this, everything I need to know about the cottage, to make it my home, is tastefully and functionally provided. There was a book on the table, next to the fresh cut flowers, that gave me a clear guide to the cottage and area. Additional instructions were provided in the specific "need to know" area, like the picture diagrams of the TV remotes that showed exactly how to work them. This is just one example of how they make everything as easy as possible. Finally, the hosts were exceptional in every communication. Brenda worked with me on my dates from the beginning, asked about my specific needs, and provided guidance and suggestions. So simply put, if you are interested in staying in this area (great for Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, Linville Falls/Gorge/Caverns, Grandfather Mountain-my favorite, Mount Mitchell, Blowing Rock, etc.) this IS the place to stay!

Terrie, St. Augustine, FL, June 2020

The Location is Awesome

It’s right between Asheville and Boone/Blowing Rock area. The blue ridge parkway and Little Switzerland which had few shops and great food at the cafe is only 12 min away. The cottage had everything we needed to just come in and get comfy (kitchen stocked with cooking necessities, towels, bath soap etc, extra bed sheets, trash bags, and more). Brenda, Steven, and property manager Kathleen were amazing. They answered all my calls right away and gave great recommendation to eat, shop, and attractions. They had some trouble with satellite and internet which we were notified of but were fixed during our stay. It is the mountains so those services are quite hard to find or don’t aways work at 100% unless you are location in the bigger towns. The shower is a little hard to get in and out for an older or disabled person it use to be a hot tube but was told that was hopefully the next change to the cottage. Overall I would stay again and recommended it to my family and friends.

Elizabeth, Fountain, NC, June 2020

Amazing Stay
Loved this cottage! It’s so cute and nicely decorated. Great location. Highly recommend going to it :)

Nikki, Mount Pleasant, SC, May 2020

Most relaxing vacation EVER!
This was the most relaxing weekend my husband and I have had in a very long time. The cottage is adorable! It is in a good, almost secluded location with very little traffic. It was very clean and was decorated so well. I must say that our favorite part is the huge front porch. We sat on the front porch every night listening to the creek flowing. There is absolutely no way that you can’t relax here. The nature and scenery around the house is amazing. It was so serene and peaceful and we have already planned to come back next fall. Truthfully, neither my husband or I wanted to leave! As for the rental process, it was so easy and Brenda was so nice and helpful. The directions and suggestions were a huge plus! Thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us. It is definitely our new favorite vacation spot and we can not wait to return!

Stefanie & Scott, Thomasville, NC , Oct 2019

Nice Getaway

The Cabin was a great place to stay for our family. It had everything we needed to be our home away from home for a few days. There's no trouble accessing it without a 4x4 vehicle, and it is close enough to Wal-Mart and restaurants to have access to everything we needed while still feeling like we were off the grid. I liked hearing the sound of the creek every time I went outside and the kids loved running around in the grassy area behind the house and seeing the butterflies on the flower bushes in front. Nearby access to the Blue Ridge Parkway means there's plenty to enjoy in reasonably close proximity to the house and Brenda has provided great instructions and recommendations to make things easy on guests.

Dean, Raliegh, NC, Sept 2019

It felt like a home
We loved our stay at the cottage - it felt like a home away from home.  There is great outdoor space and the interior is charming as well.
We had everything we needed, and really appreciated having a cozy home base!

Cassie, Winston Salem, NC, May 2019

Hammock time & hummingbirds

Our family had a wonderful time attending the Fire On The Mountain event.  The house was perfect.  It was clean, quiet, and very close to Spruce Pine, NC.  We loved lying on the hammock and sharing the front porch with the Humming Birds.  We look forward to returning in the future!

Bradley, New London, NC, April 2019

Wonderful retreat...quaint & cozy!
Such a wonderfully remodeled home. We just settled in & it felt so cozy and homey. Great area for sitting outdoors. You can hear the creek feel the breeze. The road is GREAT for car watching...several car clubs cruised by...it was so exciting.

Wanda, New London, NC, Oct 2018

Cottage is colorful and charming

This cottage is colorful and charming and perfect for our family of four. It is cleverly decorated with many sweet vintage items that make the cottage homey and welcoming. Because the kitchen was very well stocked, we were able to cook a lot of meals there, which we enjoyed. The porch has a wonderful hammock and chairs to allow one to sit outside and enjoy the sound of the creek nearby. Although we didn't use the fire pit, it was a beautiful walk back to the site. Communication from the owner was quick and thorough, and the cottage had everything we needed. Plus it was clean and smelled fresh. There were even fresh flowers on the counter! Beds were very comfortable. As you can imagine, the roads around that area are very steep and windy, so take your time and enjoy the scenery (if you are lucky enough to be the passenger!).

Erika, Apex, NC, July 2018

Whispering Creek Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It's peaceful, inspiring, and beautifully decorated. The porch is a perfect spot to curl up with a book and listen to the stream, and the host is very gracious and kind. We will definitely return!

Amber, Charlotte, NC, April 2018

The house was fantastic! It was in a great location with amazing touches.

Many small things in the kitchen were already stocked which really gave it a great vibe.

Spencer, New South Wales, Australia · December 2017

Wife and I spent a nice winter weekend over new years and loved the place. It was convenient to Linville Gorge where we did some hiking and located centrally so that we were able to do some driving and see NC Mountain in the Winter. What a treat. Cottage was well stocked with necessary items (garbage bags, TP and linens). Very cozy and the lack of wifi was no big deal, just added to the relaxation.
The Hicks Family, Willow Spring, NC, Dec 2017

What an amazing little cottage to get away from the high pace of normal life. Cottage was stocked with everything one would want. Although the walk to the fire pit was a wee bit treacherous, it was marvelous to be able to sit around a fire with the sounds of nature and the cute little stream running through the property. Definitely a hidden gem. Thanks for allowing us to share your piece of this amazing world.

Graham, Mooresville, NC · October 2017

We very much enjoyed our stay. The cottage has everything you need. There is a very well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Everything was very clean and welcoming as we arrived. It's a romantic spot in the mountain with a little creek next to it, ideal for older children to go on an adventure. We very much enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the Hummingbirds. We definitely recommend this cottage and would book it again.

Sandy & Family, Pittsburgh, PA, Aug 2017

I can't say enough about this adorable little cottage, it was absolutely perfect for our vacation. Brenda hasn't missed a single detail in decorating the cottage, it really felt like home. The location is convenient and easy to find, but still felt very private and tucked away. The bed in the master bedroom is super comfortable. The kitchen literally had everything we needed and then some. We loved that there was a washer and dryer available. The front porch is great, we spent a lot of time in the hammock listening to the creek. We would love to stay here again. Thank you Brenda!

Barber Family, Aug 2017

Our stay at the cottage was surprisingly warm accommodating and charming.  It became difficult to leave the cottage to do other activities for we fell in love with this warmth and every nook and cranny  that were abundantly displayed.  The details of years past and collection of art. It felt like we had gone back in time with modern conveniences. The porch is so delightful that one can  spend most of the evenings  just listening to the creek and to nature. They have a wonderful collection of books games and movies that we had never seen. My children and I loved being in the kitchen cooking and spending time as a family. I especially loved doing the dishes in the morning while looking through the window to receive the daily visits of the turkeys that walk about doing their  routine morning exercise. Our six days felt longer for the days went by slowly and still we felt  we did not have enough time to enjoy its splendor. Although the area does not have Wi-Fi the connection that we made with nature was much better.  I am convinced that my kids will never forget that time at Whispering Creek Cottage.  Brenda was so accommodating and patient.  I was pleased working with you and hope to do so again in the future.
Nina Gregory and Family, Aug 2017

A great cabin close to many sites but sitting on the porch listening to the creek and
watching the hummingbirds, is just what a body needs! Well appointed cabin.

Ms. Nicole, New Orleans, LA, July 2017

We had a wonderful stay at the Whispering Creek cottage. The location was perfect: isolated enough to relax, but not too far from anything we might need. Close to many great waterfall hikes! We loved the decor of the house and spent most of our time watching the hummingbirds on the expansive front porch.

The MacNabbs, Washington, DC, July 2017

Sweet house, great yard with creek, fire pit and a great front porch! I used the house to work on a play I am writing and it was perfect.
Feels secluded yet safe. The furnishings are great and the house is full of things to look at and read.

Murphy, Black Mountain, NC, June 2017

My fiancé and I stayed at the cottage during a long holiday weekend. The place was great. It was very clean and cozy. The kitchen was stocked with
spices and just about everything a cook could ask for. The cottage is tucked away in the mountains, far from the bustle. Perfect for those wanting
to get away from it all. The hammock on the front porch was great too. A nice way to wind down from a day of activities.
Brenda was a great host. She provided lots of information about the cottage and the surrounding area.
She really made everything as painless as possible. We had a great experience and are looking forward to returning one day.

Ryan, Charleston, WV, May 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was decorated so well and sitting on the porch listening to the stream at night was priceless. Our girls loved exploring the woods and stream, so much so, that we had a hard time getting them to leave the cottage. We all loved the fact that there was no wifi and cell coverage, it helped us unplug and just enjoy each other and the experience was that much better. Highly recommend!

Kevin, Lindenwold, NJ, May 2017

Whispering Creek Cottage was warm and welcoming! Your cottage provided our getaway with inspiration and fresh mountain air for bead retreat. We were able to create without any interruptions! We will always remember the whispers of your cottage! Looking forward to returning. Thank you!

Ms. Sanders, Inman, SC, April 2017

We adored our 2nd stay at Whispering Creek. It gave us the much needed chance to reconnect with each other, with our children, and with nature without the distraction of modern interruption. It is truly a magical cottage that lets you forget about the not so great parts of modern life. The anxiety, stress, and ties to insignificant  goals disappear  allowing for the truly important connections to take over making an unforgettable family vacation that we will never forget. Our boys had a blast here, from lounging in the hammock, to throwing rocks in the creek, and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Thank you for sharing this enchanting place with us and allowing us to build these precious memories here with our boys!

The Wootens, Harrison, TN, October 2016

What a cute and adorable restored farmhouse you have. It was obvious that much effort and attention to detail was given in the restoration. I was tempted to sleep out on the porch hammock just to fall asleep to the babbling brook from the side of the house. If it had wi-fi, I think I could've stayed for longer!

We enjoyed our stay!    The Gardners, NW Georgia, July 2016

Our recent stay at your cottage was great! We really enjoyed watching the humming birds, it was the most we had ever seen. One time we counted six right around the feeder! We spent a lot of time on the front porch just swinging and rocking. The kids enjoyed the trails and creek. It was a much needed getaway from the city. We were pleasantly surprised how well stocked the cottage was. Thanks!

Jeff & Kristy, Chesapeake VA, June 2016

Brenda and Steven's cottage was the perfect getaway. My girlfriend and I were in desperate need of a break from the city so we made our way to the mountains. Listening to the trickling creek while sitting on the quant hammock truly helped us unwind. While we spent most of our time at the house, when we did venture out to little Switzerland we found the perfect local used book store where there were some great finds. We also made our way out to the linville caverns and falls which were must sees that bring you under the mountain and on top of them. Overall the house was amazing, which is why we spent most of our time there. Cute, clean, and homie this cottage is the place to spend that needed vacation time in the mountains.

William & Chelsea, Ridgeland, SC, April 2016

This was our second stay at Whispering Creek Cottage.   We had enjoyed our previous stay, in 2014, so much that when we were planning our 2016 tour of five states, we made sure that we included another stay here.  Once again , everything that we wanted was provided and t he bed was the most comfortable of the six that we slept in during our holiday.  Although on one night the temperature dropped to below 30°  outside we were snug and warm inside.  As it is fairly close to Charlotte Airport, our preferred airport, we intend to include it in our next USA holiday in a few years' time.

C & B Henley, Devizes, England, April 2016

My wife and I had a good time and really enjoyed your cottage. I believe my wife used the expression "cute as a button" at least 10 times to describe the overall effect and individual touches. You've done a great job.   The Leonard’s, Greenville, SC, Nov 2015

Whispering Creek Cottage is an amazingly serene and beautiful step back in time.  You will not believe the peace and tranquil setting this cozy cottage offers.  Our family enjoyed the beauty of the fall season here and we are aching to return.  With easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway,
this cottage is a must for a NC mountain experience!   Kassie,  Harrison, TN, Oct 2105

Four of us rode our motorcycles almost 300 miles to get here and we stayed for 2 nights. We cooked breakfast both mornings and everything we needed was there. I would definitely consider coming back with my family and renting again. The place was exactly as described on the website and the roads all around the area were great for motorcycles. I highly recommend renting this house if you will be visiting the area and need a place to stay.

Jim, Goldsboro, NC, Sept 2015

We loved this enchanting cottage and would love to return.  Didn't want to leave!   It rained the entire time we were there and that didn't even interfere with us coming and going and enjoying our stay.  The cottage was perfect, comfortable, clean, and had the most wonderful front porch!  We found the cottage to be authentic, comfortable, charming and quaint.  Brenda was very accommodating, flexible and helpful.  One thing that set this cottage apart from others we have stayed in was that it felt like home.  The owners had lots of items that we could use had we left anything behind, like books, magazines, condiments, spices, toiletries.  We didn't get the feeling that they felt the need to keep everything under lock and key.  Out of 5 stars, I give Whispering Creek Cottage 10!     Jenny L., Wake Forest, NC, Sept 2015

The listing was exactly as described. The cabin was well stocked and kitchen had everything we could think of to make great meals. The porch setting with rocking chairs and hammock were the best thing about my stay! Loved the small details and antique feel of the cabin!
Harvey, Winston Salem, NC, Aug 2015

We love our peaceful stay at the Whispering Creek Cottage. The cottage was very historic and unique, filled with many intriguing novelties. Staying over the weekend felt like going back in time, but still enjoying 21st century amnesties.  Our toddler enjoyed playing in the creek and he also enjoyed sitting by the campfire. This cottage is within minutes to Little Switzerland Inn which has a fantastic restaurant and Emerald Village Gem mine. The temperature for July was fantastic. We would love to stay here again. Seufert, Aiken, NC, May 2015

Our stay at Whispering Creek Cottage was absolutely perfect! The home was so inviting, beautifully decorated and even though over a hundred years old, had all the modern conveniences one would need for a comfortable stay. The wide front porch was perfect for relaxing, and having long conversations with friends. We took advantage of the fire pit deep in the woods, loving the sound on the creek just feet away. The beds were very comfortable. I was a little leery about the second bedroom having a trundle bed, but to my amazement I had the most restful nights sleep! All four of us had the most delightful and extremely peaceful weekend. Our only regret was having to leave. I hope to go back one day, as this home, in so many wonderful ways, was just delightful!  Steins, Cornelius, NC, May 2015

This cottage ranks as my all-time favorite get-away. Never felt so at home in a rental.  I'm an antique lover, and the cottage was decorated to perfection. In addition to ultra fine decorating, the cottage was relaxing and unpretentious. This place is exceptional.  Joanne, Salt Springs, FL, Sept 2014

We have to say that your cottage is fantastic - It is unique in character and charm and has the most welcoming feel when you enter. We instantly felt at home and loved the location, which provided peace and solitude after a hard day's sightseeing. The area has so much to offer which we only caught a snapshot of and would love to return. We could quite happily live there without any hesitation.  Cindy, Durham, NC, Sept 2014

My husband and I truly enjoyed our visit.  We were celebrating our one year anniversary and it was perfect!!  Kim & Ian, Cary, NC, June 2014

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Whispering Creek Cottage. We hope to come back and bring our son with us to enjoy the cottage and all the lovely things to do along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We spent our days out hiking and came home in the evenings to the lovely, quiet cottage.  The cottage was very well stocked with basic necessities. We loved the artwork and decor in the cottage. There are many interesting things to look at and we discovered something new every day.  We truly enjoyed ourselves at the property and would highly recommend it to others!  Carlyn, Blue Mountain, MS, June 2014

What a cool, cute little place right off of the winding mountain road! I was worried it wouldn't feel private being right by the road but never felt intruded on by the scarce amount of cars driving by. If you like the old cabin feel and isolation without giving up too many nice things, this is the place. We arrived as it was getting dark and had no problem finding or getting in to the cottage with the information Brenda gave us. Our first impression of the cottage was dimly lit, but as the energy-efficient bulbs gained brightness the inside started to take on a very "homey" feel. All the colors painted inside are soothing and bright, leaving an older building feeling newer. There are many pieces of art and trinkets adorning the rooms. I was impressed with all the things available to us when we arrived: candles, a variety of toiletries, extra "grubby" towels, food and spices (some leftover from recent guests), starter logs for the firepit (didn't need them), a pie iron or sandwich maker for open fires, utensils, etc. Shower was nice and spacious though and we never ran out of hot water while showering. It was very soothing to be by the bubbling creek, especially when on the front porch or at the fire pit (200ft behind the cottage). We were able to enjoy many restaurants in the surrounding area ("Fresh" a pizza place in Black Mountain & "Knife and Fork" in Spruce Pine) and Asheville is a quick hour and 10min drive! Loved our experience. Unique and Natural.  Joel, Chattanooga, TN, Nov 2013

We enjoyed the porch and the hammock; I think everyone took a nap in it at one point. The kids were freaking out at first because there wasn't any cell phone service, but they accepted it quickly. We had some of our family from Spruce Pine over for dinner and they all fell in love with the cottage. This is our #1 place to stay when we visit again. Next time, I am hoping to have one day to just relax at the cottage... no running, just rocking on the porch and listening to the creek whispering.   Cheri, Taneytown, MD, June 2013

We really enjoyed our stay in your comfortable cottage. We loved the proximity to the parkway and the quiet, beautiful setting and charming decor. The library you had on the area and on the flora and fauna was above an beyond expectations.  We cannot wait to stay there again.  Liz, Baton Rouge, Oct. 2012

We enjoyed the stay and thanks very much for the good service that you provided us. The document that describes the location, and surrounding places is a really good one.   Sam, Alpharetta, GA, October 2012

Arriving in Marion without any reservations, the chamber of commerce provided us with a list of cabin rentals, since we were once Tampa residence, we thought would give Brenda a call,  She was awesome, she informed us that her husband Steve was up at the cottage and that we could drive up and check it out. We were so lucky that it was available and was very reasonable priced! Upon arrival to the cottage, Steve greeted us and showed us around. Whispering Creek Cottage is very clean, quaint, relaxing and very much inviting, the cottage has everything you need  when it comes to amenities. Jeff and I enjoyed relaxing down by the fire pit in the evening listening to the rushing creek and enjoying  breakfast in the morning out on the front porch. Thanks to Brenda and Steve for providing such a relaxing place to stay!   Jeff & Theresa, October 2012

The cottage is cozy, convenient, and very well-appointed.  It is a great blend of history and modern conveniences with an artistic flair!                                                    The Barbour’s,  September 2012

Perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to find peace and solitude.  Very relaxing and quiet and with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway for exploring and day trips.  The Thomas Family,  September 2012

We had a wonderful visit at the Whispering Creek Cottage.  We loved hanging out on the front porch with our 2 little girls. We had fun by the creek and roasting marshmallows each night at the fire pit.  We can't wait to come back!  The Mann Family,  August 2012

Great little place nestled in the woods with an awesome little creek babbling. Good place to escape. It has everything you need.  Connie,  August 2012

What a wonderful weekend getaway in a charming mountain cabin!  We hope to stay here again on our next trip to Little Switzerland! We thoroughly enjoyed the sound of the creek outside of the bedroom window, swinging in the hammock, watching the cars navigate the winding road, and the cabin's quiet yet convenient location.  Kristin,  June 2012

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The house was plenty big for a family of four, especially the kitchen, which was very well supplied. We loved the art and decor, very charming. We will have to come back sometime to enjoy our drinks on the porch to the sound of the creek!   The Flamers,  May 2012

If you want to find a wonderful cozy retreat this early 1900’s  home has been upgraded very tastefully with modern conveniences, while maintaining the charm of its rustic roots. The owners have done a masterful job providing everything you could need. I can testify to that as I rented for the entire season of 2011. I really enjoyed my stay and will never forget the soothing sound of the creek beside the cabin. Other than not being able to stay longer my only regret was the Jacuzzi tub wasn’t operational while I was there. Anyone considering this cabin will enjoy the wonderful atmosphere at the cabin and
the surrounding community.   Kris from Tallahassee, FL 2011

This was our first vacation in NC and we chose this cottage after much research and were NOT disappointed. The front deep porch with the rambling creek near by was just a perfect spot to relax, read or swing in the hammock. For us the porch was very important, as we wanted to be close to nature and the setting was post card perfect. The cottage had all the necessary amenities and was cozy and very comfortable. Brenda, you chose some wonderful woven area rugs to create color, flare and interest. Thank you for sharing your home; we were happy visitors.  Eileen & Stretch, September 2010

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway. Peaceful and serene setting with numerous activities, beautiful views and several good restaurants close by.  The Carmichael’s, October 2010

We really enjoyed our stay - just wish it could have been longer.  As you know, this trip was a last-minute deal...what luck that I found your adorable cottage available for us!  We ate lunch at the Little Switzerland Cafe, which was the best meal of our trip.  We had fun on the Blue Ridge Parkway and at the Altapass Orchard.  I'm sure we'll be back, and hopefully stay at Whispering Creek Cottage again!  The Saidak’s, October 2010

Overall, our experience was great. We loved the decor and noticed something everyday that we hadn't seen the day before. You provided rainy day weather entertainment in the form of movies, music and games. The kitchen was well equipped. We found everything we needed. You anticipated about every need in the form of shampoos, soaps, first aid supplies etc. We really were very well pleased and will highly recommend your cottage to others. Thanks for a wonderful few days R&R.   The Ham’s and Allen’s, August 2010

We enjoyed our stay... the cottage was great! We loved the unique touch you put into the home. It really made you feel at home and comfortable and relaxed. You had everything a person could need. It was one of the coolest places we have ever stayed. Everything was very clean. We went panning for emeralds at Emerald Village. I am going to have a ring made. The whole trip was wonderful and we would love to stay at your cottage again. Thank you so much for opening your home to us.  The Darr’s, June 2010

Everything was fine with the cottage--we really loved it.  So peaceful!  The Lee’s, June 2010

My family greatly enjoyed the peace the cabin afforded. My wife and daughter simply loved the interior of the cabin - you have done a fine job. It is fun and quirky, but still very functional. I would recommend your cabin to anyone staying in the area. I greatly enjoyed the Spruce Pine-Bakersville area, which I had never visited before. We would certainly like to stay at your place again.  The Wallace’s, June 2010

We had a great time at the Whispering Creek Cottage.  We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary there and enjoyed our four days in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  It was so peaceful and serene and the weather was great, too!  How fortunate we were to have found the cottage on the internet and that there was a vacancy during the time we wanted to stay.  Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.  It was memorable.  The Robinson’s, August 2009

This is one of the cutest Cottages I have ever seen.  Lazy days are what this place is all about!  We enjoyed listening to the running creek as we rocked on the front porch or swinging in the hammock watching the humming birds go back and forth from the lush green oak tree to the whimsical feeders.  On the weekend the various styles of motorcycles traveling the winding mountain road was very entertaining.  This cottage is not for the five star hotel comfort lovers but if you want to step back in time to a place where life is not about to run you over and you can relax enough to hear the voice of God in your spirit this is the place for you.   The cool mountain breezes are awaiting and God's wonderful and not so wonderful ;-) creation is all around!  (Everything has it's purpose and sometimes the purpose is to scare me!) Remember it is a 1915 mountain home!  When I walked in I was immediately taken back to my grandparents home in the foothills of NC which has long been gone from the family.  Come and sit a spell or ride up to Little Switzerland and get on the parkway for breathe taking vistas (beautiful panoramic views) and find out why they call them the Great Smokey Mountains!  I look forward to returning in the early spring or late fall!   Pattie, August 2009

We had a wonderful and relaxing time. The kids asked the whole time if we could come back.  We will be returning.  Tiffany & Craig, Aug 2009

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful.  My husband wanted to know if we could get a little money back from use of the cabin because we stayed on the porch most of the time!!! I loved the porch. It is like another room & you have it fixed up so cute. Our granddaughter loved the hammock & became an expert at entering & exiting & staying on…  She had a great time. We saw wild turkeys there on the property which excited her. Every time I looked out of the kitchen window, I expected to see a deer up on that ridge out back, but never did. I am sure he was there watching me!!   Emile & Corky, July 2009

Your North Carolina cabin was a fantastic place to relax and vacation!  Such a beautiful interior, marvelous front porch and great fire pit.  We grilled dinner several nights, roasted marshmallows, lounged in the hammock, and even fished in the creek. The kids called this cabin 'the best yet!' Thank you so much for the hospitality, I believe we would like to return sometime in the future.  Bruce & Jo, July 2009

What can I say about my stay at Whispering Creek Cottage? Well, first and foremost, it was way too short of a stay, second I wish I lived closer, as this is somewhere I should be going at least three to four weekends a year at a minimum. The day I arrived, it was raining very lightly. I unloaded the car, and sat down in the hammock to listen to the rain tapping on the roof and clicking on the leaves of the trees. I quickly fell asleep in the hammock. The house is decorated so comfortably, that I felt right at home. I really enjoyed that I could cook if I wanted to, or simply just bring home take-out from the days sight-seeing. The creek on the side of the house made sleeping a pure joy. On the day I had to leave, I didn't want to go. I felt so at home, so rested, and so peaceful, and leaving meant going into traffic, and back to daily life. Brenda and Steve, I'd like to thank you so much for sharing your wonderful
cottage with me. It has given me a well needed rest away from life's daily stresses and yet awakened artistic side of me.
I look forward to returning there again, hopefully very soon.   Billie Jo Bruha, June 2009

My husband and I needed a quick and close get-away from our home to relax and be restored from our busy lives. Whispering Cottage offered just what we needed... quiet and peaceful rest! We LOVED the  decor and wonderful front porch. Each morning we woke to the singing of the creek just outside our bedroom window. We WILL return!   Wimmers from Charlotte,  N.C.  2008

Whispering Creek Cottage is a piece of heaven in the Appalachian mountains.  We enjoyed fishing in
the creek for crayfish and then eating our rewards for lunch.  At night we sat by the campfire toasting marshmallows.  The cottage is equipped with all modern  conveniences and plenty of games and reading material for everyone.  It's a family friendly place with plenty to do at and around the cottage.  Forget about cell phones and the TV, there's no time for either just plenty of time for family fun.  Make sure you read the local guide set out by the owners, we especially loved the horse riding which we would have never found by ourselves.   Pringle Family, July 2008

I want to let you know how much I enjoyed my stay at your cottage in Little Switzerland, NC. I do not know when the cottage was built but it was most charming and comfortable. The location near the Blue Ridge Parkway was perfect and we were within an hour of many attractions such as the Biltmore Estate in Asheville and Grand Father Mountain in Linville. Your cottage was a delight for relaxing and sightseeing.
I look forward to coming back again.  Irwin Baron, August 2007

Thank you so much for sharing your cozy cottage with our family. It was such a comfort to have this beautiful home to come back to after a full day of exploring North Carolina. The kids loved spending the mornings looking for salamanders and crawfish in the creek and picking wild raspberries to top their cereal for breakfast. I loved the large front porch, sitting there watching the birds with the sound of the creek in the background was instant therapy! I think my husband loved all the things we discovered in and around Little Switzerland. We hiked, found local galleries to explore, and met the nicest people in the neighboring towns. I fell in love with the cottage, it became home for us that week. It was the best vacation we have ever had! Chip & Anne, December 2007
